Have you ever tried to add a pre-recorded video to your Instagram story, only to find out that it makes the app crash?
Maybe you try two or three more times and it does the same thing. You’re left scratching your head and we all know Instagram’s customer service/tech support is non-existent. So what do you do?
I have the solution…
Follow these steps to be a pro-story poster:
- Go to the view to add or create a Story post
- Swipe up and choose the video that Instagram has been fussy with
- Let the video play through at least once (1.5 times is usually good)
- Then hit the add button
- You should see a successful post!
What’s happening here??
So my guess is that the app needs time to do some kind of pre-loading of the file to the IG servers or even in a local cache inside the app so it makes for a quicker upload. However, when you introduce larger video files and try to add them immediately, it’s not ready. Lauryn Hill said “Ready or not, here I come, you can’t hide” and Instagram said “Not” then hid your video.
Let me know if this works for you but I have been searching for a solution that no one seems to have yet. If you work at Facebook/Instagram let me know if my assumptions are correct.
